How to set up the Yotpo integration with CaptiFi

Follow the steps below to bring your Yotpo reviews into the Review Inbox. What the inbox does with them (AI reply drafts, the reply links, the Replied and Dismissed filters) is covered on the Reviews page.

Time needed: about 10 minutes.

What this integration does

Your latest Yotpo reviews are pulled into the Review Inbox, each with the reviewer's name, stars, title and text and an AI-drafted reply. CaptiFi signs in to Yotpo with your store's app key and secret key.

Yotpo is inbox only. There is no open review link to send a guest to, so there is no Yotpo option under Happy guests review on, and review requests carry on sending happy guests to your other platforms.

Yotpo is your own subscription; CaptiFi adds nothing to it.

Before you start

  • A Yotpo account, logged in as the account administrator (only the administrator can see the secret key)
  • A CaptiFi plan that includes review requests (Essentials or above; not on Lite)

Part 1: Find your app key and secret key

Step 1: Open General Settings

In the Yotpo admin, click the profile icon in the top right corner, then Account Settings, then General Settings.

Step 2: Copy the app key

The App Key is at the bottom of General Settings. Copy it.

Step 3: Reveal and copy the secret key

On the same page, click Get secret key. Yotpo emails a verification code to your account's address; paste the code and click Submit, and the secret key is shown. Copy it and treat it as a password. If your account already has one, it is shown there without the code.

Part 2: Enter them in CaptiFi

Step 4: Open the Yotpo card

Log in to my.captifi.io and click Integrations in the left sidebar. Find the Yotpo card and click Configure (it reads Manage once the card is connected).

Step 5: Pick the venue

Each venue has its own keys and its own inbox, so choose the venue you are setting up.

Step 6: Enter the keys

In Yotpo app key, paste the app key. In Yotpo secret, paste the secret key. The secret is write-only: once saved, CaptiFi shows only that a secret is set, with a Replace button if you ever need to change it.

Step 7: Click Test connection

CaptiFi asks Yotpo for an access token with the two keys and reports whether Yotpo issued one.

Step 8: Save and check the toggle

Click Save. CaptiFi pulls your latest reviews into the inbox straight away. The Enabled switch keeps the sync running; switch it off to pause it without losing your keys.

Part 3: Check the inbox

Step 9: Filter by Yotpo

Open the Inbox tab of Reviews and filter by Yotpo. Click Draft AI reply on a review, copy the draft, then click Reply on Yotpo: it opens Yotpo's reviews dashboard, where you paste the draft and post it. CaptiFi never posts anything on your behalf.

Troubleshooting

Test connection fails: the app key or secret key is wrong. Copy both again from General Settings in the Yotpo admin, logged in as the administrator, and test again.

The inbox stays empty: the store has no reviews yet, or the sync is paused. Check the Enabled switch on the card, then click Sync now on the Inbox tab.

The card shows a message under Last error: the last sync failed, and the message says why (most often a secret key that was reset in Yotpo). Fix it, save, and sync again.

Why is there no Yotpo button for guests? Yotpo has no open review link, so there is nothing to send a guest to. Your happy guests go to your other platforms as before.
