Quick Start Guide

Get your CaptiFi device online in under 5 minutes.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have:

  • [x] Your CaptiFi device and the included Ethernet cable
  • [x] Your 8-digit activation PIN (printed on the card in the box)
  • [x] Your internet router with a spare Ethernet port
  • [x] A CaptiFi account at my.captifi.io

Step 1: Plug In

  1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the CaptiFi device to a spare port on your router or switch
  2. Plug the device into a power socket (or connect via PoE if you have the PoE model)

Wait 2-3 minutes while the device boots. The LED turns solid blue when it's ready.

Step 2: Activate Your Device

  1. On your phone or laptop, connect to the device's setup WiFi network (CaptiFi Setup)
  2. The activation page opens automatically (if not, open a browser and visit any website)
  3. Enter the 8-digit PIN from your activation card

The device activates, switches to your venue's guest network, and shows as Online (green) in your dashboard under My Locations within a couple of minutes.

WARNING

If the device stays Offline in your dashboard, it can't reach the internet. Check both ends of the Ethernet cable and confirm your router has a working connection. See Troubleshooting.

You're Live!

Your CaptiFi guest WiFi is now active. Guests connecting to your guest network (named after your venue by default — rename it under My LocationsEdit site) will see your branded splash page.
