Setup Guide
Location: my.captifi.io → opens by itself on a new account's first visit, and any time from Help → Setup guide in the sidebar
The setup guide walks the account owner through the things worth setting up once the WiFi is connected: your sign-in page, a first test sign-in, review requests, a welcome offer, a game, a welcome email and your team. Each step ticks itself as soon as CaptiFi sees it done, so there is nothing to mark off by hand.
The welcome
On a new account's first visit to the dashboard, once the set-up wizard is finished, a short welcome opens over the home screen. It has three screens, and every one of them has Skip setup at the top right:
- Welcome: your venue's name and roughly how long the remaining steps take. Press Let's go to carry on, or I'll look around first to close it. The guide stays in the corner of the screen either way.
- What do you want guest WiFi to do?: pick any of the goals (build a guest list you can market to, get more Google reviews, bring guests back more often, promote events and offers, see who visits and when). The steps that serve those goals move to the top of your plan and are marked Recommended. You can pick none.
- Your setup plan: the steps in order, with the ones already done ticked. Press the button under the plan to start the first step, or Later to close it.
Skip setup closes the welcome and hides the setup guide completely, so nothing waits in the corner of the screen. Any goals you picked are kept. A short message confirms it, and the guide is still under Help → Setup guide whenever you want it.
The welcome only opens by itself for the account owner on a new account. Team members never see it, and accounts made before 17 October 2026 are not interrupted; the owner can open it from Help → Setup guide.
The setup guide in the corner
While the guide is in progress, a small Setup guide button sits in the bottom right corner with a ring showing how far you are and how many steps are done. Click it to open the checklist.
The checklist groups the steps into Go live and Grow your guest list. Click a step to open it:
- The main button takes you to the right page. For a welcome offer or a game it switches Rewards & Offers or Guest games on first if they are off, so the page opens ready to use.
- Show me where dims the screen and highlights where that page lives in your sidebar, so you can find it again later.
- Skip counts the step as done for the guide. Undo skip brings it back.
When a step is done, the ring moves on and a short message names the next step. When every step is done or skipped, the guide says your venue is ready for guests and leaves the corner.
To put the guide away before then, press the X on the Setup guide button, or open the guide and choose Hide the setup guide at the bottom. Open it again any time from Help → Setup guide.

New items in the sidebar
When the account owner switches a feature on under Account → Integrations → Dashboard features, the pages it adds to the sidebar are highlighted with a ring and a New label until you open them. On a phone, a dot on the menu button shows there is something new in the sidebar. The confirmation under the feature cards has a Show me button that points straight at the new item.
