LED Status Guide
The CaptiFi device uses LED colours to indicate its current status. Use this guide to understand what each LED state means.
LED States at a Glance

Detailed Descriptions
🟡 Yellow Flashing — Booting Up
The device is starting up. This is normal after first plugging in or after a restart.
- Duration: About 60 seconds
- Next: LED will change to purple (awaiting enrollment) or green (if already enrolled)
🟣 Solid Purple — Awaiting Enrollment
The device is powered on, connected to the network, and waiting to be enrolled in your CaptiFi account.
- Action: Log in to app.captifi.io → Settings → Devices → Add Device → Enter PIN
- Next: LED will pulse blue during enrollment, then turn green
🔵 Blue Pulsing — Enrolling
The device is communicating with CaptiFi servers to complete enrollment.
- Duration: Usually 30-60 seconds
- Next: LED will turn solid green when complete
🟢 Solid Green — All Good ✅
Everything is working correctly. Your CaptiFi device is online, enrolled, and serving guest WiFi.
- Action: None — you're all set!
🔵 Solid Blue — VPN Connecting
The device is establishing a secure VPN connection to CaptiFi servers.
- Duration: Usually 1-2 minutes
- Next: LED will turn green when VPN is established
- If stuck: See Common Issues
🔴 Solid Red — No Internet
The device cannot reach the internet.
- Check:
- Ethernet cable is firmly connected at both ends
- PoE injector is plugged in and powered
- Router has internet access (test with another device)
- Try a different Ethernet port on your router
- If unresolved: See Network Troubleshooting
🔴 Red Fast Flashing — Failsafe Mode
The device has entered failsafe mode due to a critical error.
- Action: Factory reset the device
- After reset: The device will reboot and you'll need to re-enroll it
⚪ White Pulsing — Firmware Update
The device is installing a firmware update.
- ⚠️ Do NOT unplug the device during this process
- Duration: 2-5 minutes
- Next: Device will automatically reboot and LED will turn green
