WiFi Access Points
Monitor and manage your WiFi access points from the CaptiFi dashboard.
Overview
The Access Points page shows all WiFi hardware connected to your CaptiFi account. Monitor their status and manage your network in real-time.
Viewing Access Points
- Log in to app.captifi.io
- Go to My Venues → WiFi Access Points
Information Displayed
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | AP identifier or custom name |
| Status | 🟢 Online or 🔴 Offline |
| Last Seen | When the AP last communicated with CaptiFi |
| IP Address | Network IP of the access point |
| MAC Address | Hardware identifier |
| Connected Guests | Number of currently connected devices |
| Site | Which venue/location this AP belongs to |
Understanding AP Status
| Status | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| 🟢 Online | AP is working and connected to CaptiFi | No action needed |
| 🔴 Offline | AP has lost connection | Check power, Ethernet, and internet |
Notifications
You can receive alerts when access points go online or offline:
- Email alerts — Toggle in Notification Preferences
- SMS alerts — Requires SMS integration
Adding Access Points
CaptiFi Plug & Play Device
- Plug in your new CaptiFi device
- Enter the enrollment PIN from your welcome email
- The device appears in your Access Points list automatically
UniFi Access Points
Access points are automatically discovered when you connect your UniFi controller during onboarding or via the UniFi setup guide.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| AP showing offline | Check power supply and Ethernet cable |
| AP online but no splash page | Verify captive portal settings on the AP |
| New AP not appearing | Check enrollment PIN or controller connection |
| Intermittent offline | Check internet stability at the venue |
