Payment Methods & Invoices

Everything about payments, invoices, and billing queries.

Accepted Payment Methods

CaptiFi accepts all major cards via Stripe:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express

TIP

We use Stripe for payment processing — your card details are never stored on our servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified (the highest level of security).

Billing Cycle

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly (or annually if selected)
  • Billing date is the date you first subscribed
  • Charges appear as "CaptiFi" on your card statement

Hardware Hold

When you receive a CaptiFi device, a small refundable hold is placed on your card:

  • This is not a charge — it's a temporary hold
  • Released after 12 months of continuous service
  • Or released when you return the device
  • Typically £50-£100 depending on device model

Failed Payments

If a payment fails:

  1. You'll receive an email notification
  2. We'll retry the charge after 3 days
  3. If it fails again, we'll retry after 7 days
  4. After 3 failed attempts, your service may be paused

To resolve: Update your payment method in SettingsBilling.

Invoices

  • Invoices are generated automatically each billing cycle
  • Available in SettingsBillingInvoice History
  • Download as PDF for your records
  • Include VAT where applicable

Refunds

  • Cancel within the first 30 days for a full refund
  • After 30 days, no refunds on previous billing periods
  • Hardware holds are always refundable upon device return
